It is no secret that many are out of work and seeking employment today. With unemployment rising and a not so promising job market for new grads, job seekers are looking at every option to help. Of course there are the basics: submitting your resume to the major job boards (CareerBuilder, Monster, etc.), checking the job classifieds, setting up a LinkedIn profile, and registering with employment agencies. While, registering with an employment agency or two is a great idea it certainly does not give you access to the numerous other agencies out there. With the number of agencies available it would be a full-time job alone applying and interviewing with them all. Choosing a resume distribution service might be the answer.
Resume distribution services will send your resume to hundreds or even thousands of recruiters and hiring managers on your behalf. The logic is the more people your resume gets into the hands of the better chances you will land a job. Of course not all recruiters and companies will be hiring or have an opening that matches your skill set. However, as a recruiter I can vouch I not only review each resume (briefly) I receive from one of these services but, I add them to our database as well. Even if there is not a current opening I have the information for future opportunities. Prices generally range from $30 – $70. As with any product or service be sure to research a few before making a decision on which service to use.
If you Google “resume distribution” you will come up with many results but, there are few popular ones to start out with: Resume Spider, Resume Rabbit, Email My Resume, Resume Zapper & Resume Arrow. Resume distribution services should not be used a replacement to your usual job seeking strategies but, can be a great aide in landing a job quicker.
